Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 28 September 2026

The S.W.I.T.C.H. Lab wants as many people as possible to be able to use theswitchlab.co.uk (the "Website"), whatever their abilities, devices or assistive technology. This statement explains how accessible the Website is, what we are doing to improve it, and how to tell us about a problem.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

Our commitment

We aim to make the Website meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We take this approach in line with our duty not to discriminate under the Equality Act 2010, including making reasonable adjustments so that disabled people can access our information and services.

Current accessibility status

The Website is built on the Wix platform, which includes a number of built-in accessibility features.

The Website has not yet been independently audited against WCAG 2.2. We aim to meet level AA, but we cannot guarantee that every page fully does so yet. We are reviewing the Website ourselves and fixing issues as we find them.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following issues on the Website and are working through them:

  • Image descriptions: the site logo currently has unhelpful or repeated alternative text in places, rather than a clear description.

  • Link text: a small number of links do not yet describe where they lead (for example, two footer links are currently mislabelled).

  • Leftover editorial text: at least one page contains a working note that was not removed before publishing, which may be confusing if read aloud by a screen reader.

We have not yet completed a full page-by-page WCAG 2.2 check, so other issues (for example around colour contrast, heading structure, or any documents we publish) may exist that we are not yet aware of. If you find one, please let us know using the details below.

Making the Website easier to use

You can adapt how you view any website to suit your needs. AbilityNet's "My Computer My Way" guides explain how to do this on most devices and browsers, including how to change text size, colours and contrast, use voice control, and use a keyboard instead of a mouse.

Alternative formats and help

If you find any part of the Website hard to use, or you would like information from it in a different format (for example large print, audio, braille or plain text), please contact us and tell us:

  • the web address (URL) of the page;

  • what the problem is or the format you need; and

  • the assistive technology or device you use, if relevant.

Email: jonathanbowder@theswitchlab.co.uk Telephone: +44 7594 900570 Post: 61 New Street, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 2PH, UK

We aim to acknowledge your message within 5 working days and to provide the information in an accessible format, or explain what we can do, within 15 working days. If a problem has to be fixed on the Website itself, we will tell you when to expect it.

Reporting accessibility problems and complaints

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Website. If you contact us and are not happy with our response, you can ask for it to be reviewed by Jonathan Bowder, Director.

If you are still not satisfied, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) provides free advice and support to individuals about discrimination and human rights (helpline 0808 800 0082, or via equalityadvisoryservice.com). If you are in Northern Ireland, you can contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.

Technical information

Accessibility of this Website relies on the following technologies working with your browser and any assistive technology you use: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. The Website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) on desktop and mobile devices, and with common screen readers.

How we are improving accessibility

We are committed to:

  • checking new pages and articles for accessibility before we publish them;

  • adding meaningful alternative text to images and using clear headings and link text;

  • keeping text readable, with enough colour contrast and resizable text;

  • making sure the Website can be used with a keyboard alone; and

  • reviewing this statement and the Website at least once a year, and after any major redesign.
